Where Shapespark wins

Shapespark has been at this longer. If you import from 3ds Max or Revit, work across hospitality and retail verticals, sell into Western clients, or want a 30-day self-serve trial — Shapespark is the better fit and we will say so.

Where Brickrat wins

If you are an Indian architect, work mostly in SketchUp, want INR pricing, and present residential designs to clients who do not care about archviz craft — Brickrat is built for exactly that. We are tighter in scope and pricier per unit-of-feature, and that is the point.

FAQ

What architects ask before switching.

Is Brickrat a Shapespark clone?
No. Shapespark is a multi-vertical archviz platform with a real-time WebGL renderer, built primarily for Western studios. Brickrat is a narrower tool — it ingests SketchUp, bakes lighting, and ships a walkthrough URL — built specifically for Indian architects in the residential workflow.
Why not just use Shapespark in India?
You can, and many studios do. The friction is the USD billing, the lack of an Indian support timezone, and a feature surface area that includes a lot of things a residential architect will never use. Brickrat charges in rupees, ships a tighter feature set, and has founders on WhatsApp.
Can I migrate a Shapespark project to Brickrat?
There is no automatic migration. If you have the original SketchUp file, you can re-bake the same model in Brickrat in an afternoon. Lights and furniture have to be re-placed in our interface.
How much cheaper is Brickrat in INR terms?
Shapespark’s entry tier at $19/month works out to roughly ₹1,600/month at current rates. Our Starter is ₹2,000. The real spread is at the upper tiers — Shapespark’s top plan at $249/month is roughly ₹21,000, and our top plan is ₹6,000 with unlimited walkthroughs.
Does Brickrat have 3D meetings like Shapespark?
Not in v0. The shared-walkthrough use case is on the roadmap. Right now you send a link and your client walks the model on their own device — most residential architects find that is what they actually needed.
