Features

Everything Brickrat does, on one page.

From the .skp on your machine to a link in your client’s WhatsApp — here is what the desktop app and the browser viewer actually ship with today.

01 · Upload

Bring your .skp file in unchanged

Brickrat reads SketchUp models the way SketchUp wrote them. Geometry, components, materials and groups land intact in the desktop app — no re-export to FBX, no clean-up pass, no hoping the textures survive.

  • Native .skp ingestion, no conversion step
  • Component hierarchy preserved
  • Materials and UVs carried over from SketchUp

02 · Lighting

Place lights the way you placed them in plan

Drop point lights, area lights and sun direction onto the rooms you modelled. Adjust temperature and intensity with sliders that read like a photographer’s, not a render engine’s.

  • Point, area and directional lights
  • Warm-to-cool temperature, intensity controls
  • Daylight angle that matches your site orientation

03 · Furniture

A library of furniture, dropped where it belongs

Pull from a built-in furniture library — sofas, beds, dining sets, kitchen modules — and drop them into rooms. You stay in charge of the layout. Brickrat just removes the modelling tax.

  • Curated library covering residential typologies
  • Snap-to-floor placement, free rotation
  • Swap and re-arrange without re-baking the model

04 · Bake

One bake, then it is ready to share

When the lights and furniture are where you want them, hit bake. Brickrat pre-computes lighting and packages the model for the browser, so the viewer runs smoothly on the laptop your client opens it on.

  • Pre-computed lighting for predictable output
  • Optimised geometry and textures for the web
  • No render queue, no per-frame waiting

05 · Share

A link your client can actually open

Publishing creates a shareable URL. Send it on WhatsApp, email it, paste it into a meeting. Same link works for revisions — re-bake and the URL serves the latest version.

  • Single URL, works from any messenger
  • Re-bakes update the same link in place
  • No login required for the client to view

06 · Viewer

Runs in any browser, on any device

The walkthrough is browser-native. Clients drag to look around and click to walk room-to-room on a laptop. On a tablet or phone they tap and swipe. No app store, no plugin, no install dialog.

  • Desktop, tablet and phone supported
  • No install, no plugin, no account
  • WebGL viewer tuned for mid-range hardware
